I'm a hiring manager for the last 3 years at a large financial institution, from our experience with past co-op students/interns, Waterloo students outperform UofT, even students from Rotman MBA. So what you saying is true, we rather take a top student from another university than an average student from the top university in Canada.

Did my studies under Engi dept at Waterloo. As long as coop does not fail- it's good. As for all this competition, nobody cares about us outside of Canada.

My daughters who lives in japan half American half Japanese goes to IB international school. she wants to lean phycology in Canada. would you tell me what she need to study? and she said tuition is little over 6000usd?? Is that true? well I used to live in Toronto for 5years. but Toronto is a small town. is it hard to get a joy with phycology degree??? I am soo worry. because i do not have any idea.. would you give us a tip?

Incoming Life Sci first years, read that. Dude's 100% right about BIO130 and ECO101. BIO130 is birdy-ish as long as you somewhat understand the content and that you're good at memorizing. ECO101 was hell though, test questions are weird unless you entirely understand the course material. However, I would say he's 50% wrong for MAT courses. MAT135 and MAT136 are birdy for me (got a 94 in 135, just had test 1 for 136 and it was free). I say 50% because how you view the course will depend on 2 factors: the coordinator and how good your HS math background is. I'm from the French system where, if you decide you're gonna do Life Science, you're set for 5h MAT / 5h CHM / 5h PHY on average per week, and these are only the class hours, I don't count the work at home. So I was fairly good at those things. Also, I had the coord everyone hates for MAT135, Bernardo, and I found the course birdy, but since MAT136 is half new and half review for me, the way I view this course could've not be the same if I had him as a coord, as there's a new one. For CHM136 I don't know what he's talking about tbh. CHM135 was birdy, and for CHM136 we just had TT1 and it was free-ish. Again I had some orgo background in HS, but I know people who do well without, you just have to understand chemistry.

My question is if I can get in from a really bad high school (like 1 class per grade tiny)

Bruh as a math student here, if you successfully walked out of this university, you would have strong knowledge background and vast experience. But, it’s really challenging and sometimes painful studying here. I would say U of T could be some people’s cup of tea but not for everyone if you don’t have very strong time management skills and you willing to sacrifice your time for rest, pour them into your academic success.

It’s crazy how people only select 5 courses Max in Canada for each semester and are unable to achieve 4.0 GPA while in Peking university (china ) we have a minimum of 12 courses per term and we are able to achieve 4.1 GPA
